Selina Ott was born in August 1998 in Krems (Austria). At the age of five she started playing the piano with her mother Cynthia Ott and one year later she received trumpet lessons from her father Erich Ott. At the age of 13 she began to study in the class of Univ. Prof. Mag. Martin Mühlfellner at the University of Music and Performing Arts (Vienna). She also participated in several master classes and took additional lessons with Reinhold Friedrich, Jens Lindemann, Bo Nilsson, Kristian Steenstrup, Hans Gansch and Josef Bammer.
Selina was awarded the 1st Prize at the Austrian national competition prima la musica six times, on regional as well as on national level. In 2008 she won 1st Prize in the category 'piano' on regional level and 2nd Prize on national level at the competition prima la musica. In 2012 she won 3rd Prize at the 1st Josef Windisch competition for highly talented students (age 9-17) at the University of Music and Performing Arts (Vienna).
At the age of eleven Selina gave her debut as a soloist at the gala concert of the European Brass Band Championships in the Brucknerhaus in Linz (Austria) with the Austrian Youth Brass Band under the direction of Hannes Buchegger, performing Whirlwind by P. Graham. She also performed as a soloist with the Brass Band Upper Austria, Brass Band Noricum, Franz Schmidt Chamber Orchestra and at several awarding ceremony concerts. Since 2010 she is a member of the European Brass Ensemble under the direction of Thomas Clamor.
In January 2014 Selina won the audition of musica juventutis so that she can play at a concert in the Schubert-Saal Konzerthaus Vienna on 20 April 2015.
