Joseph Fleetwood

"Played with the precision of a fine arts jeweller, you elevated the Chopin revoluationary etude to a higher plane, and your Bach performance was perfect" (Alexander Korsantia)

"Joseph is an outstanding young performer!" (Murray McLachlan)

Joseph Fleetwood comes from an extraordinary musical lineage: His last teacher was a pupil of Karl Ulrich Schnabel (Artur Schnabel - Leschetizky - Czerny - Beethoven) and his first teacher was a pupil of Tobias Matthay (Matthay was the teacher of Myra Hess, Clifford Curzon, Maura Lympany).

Joseph has performed many of the world's greatest piano concertos - in the forthcoming season he is performing Rachmaninoff 3 and Beethoven 3, and recording the complete J.S. Bach Partitas for the Sheva Collection, to be released in early 2018. In past seasons he has performed Tchaikovsky 1 and 2, Rachmaninoff 2, Rachmaninoff Paganini Variations, Beethoven 5, Mozart 25, Gershwin's Rhapsody In Blue and others.

In his solo recitals, as well as the standard core repertoire from Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Grieg, Janacek, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Rachmaninoff etc, Joseph programmes exciting works by lesser known composers such as Hummel, Ginastera, York Bowen, and lesser-known works by the great composers (such as Liszt's Two Legends).
