The German/Bulgarian pianist Ivajla Kirova is the founder of the Association for promotion of Bulgarian music in Germany and artistic director of “Bulgarian Musical Evenings in Munich”. She is a good example of how the Bulgarian art can be developed and supported even beyond the country's frontiers” reported Radio Deutsche Welle.

Kirova's career started early in her native Bulgaria after winning top prices in several competitions for young pianists. She graduated with honors from the State Music Academy Sofia. Ms. Kirova holds a Master of MA degree from the University of Music Munich and has been living in Germany since 1999 when she was appointed at the University of Music Munich becoming the Associate Professor at age 24. In addition, she taught piano students from all over the world for 7 years, was invited for jury-member at Competitions and led Masterclasses in Europe and Asia. She has performed in Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Malaysia, Japan and in the UAE. Her concerts were broadcast on TV & Radio in Bulgaria, Germany, Switzerland and Canada.

Ms. Kirova has recorded 4 CDs and has published many own compositions, poems and songs. Her debut CD 2001 was prized by Maestro Gerhard Oppitz as “excellent”. Maestro Alexis Weissenberg has selected her live performance from his Masterclass concert and has released it in 2003 on CD in Switzerland.

Ms. Kirova last CD titled “In Memoriam Maestro Weissenberg” was released in 2014 on IFO Classics gathering critical acclaim for her playing being ”Kirova’s interpretations are unique, with excellent dynamic control, gorgeous touch, beautiful expression and technical purity”. Huntley Dent of the New York Arts and Maria Nockin of the Fanfare Magazine praises her new CD in some in-depth reviews: “As composer and performer Kirova displays impressive talents”,“Kirova’s delivery of Liszt’s Spanish Rhapsody is in the Weissenberg mold in its sweep, scale, and boldness”,“She does her esteemed teachers proud”.

Ms. Kirova was awarded Artist Award 2015 at the Bel Canto Artist & Seminar Series in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 2016 was released her new CD with world premiere recordings of Bulgarian chamber music works (Con Brio Recordings, USA).
