Daniel Wenzel studied with the cellists Truls Mørk, Troels Svane and the violist Lars Anders Tomter in Oslo, Lübeck and Copenhagen. He is a prize winner of the "International Cello Competition Liezen, Austria, the string competition "Julio Cardona“, Portugal and scolar of the "Deutschen Stiftung Musikleben".
Chamber musical education he received among others from Heime Müller (Artemis Quartett), Gerhard Schulz (Alban Berg Quartett) and pianist Havard Gimse.
As a member of the Nathan String Quartet Hamburg from 2013-2014 he regulary played in concert series at Laeiszhalle Hamburg and Casino Basel.
Since 2014 Daniel Wenzel is 1. principal cellist at the Sinfonieorchester Aachen, Germany with whom he will perform Brahms Double Concerto in April 2016.
