The London Myriad Ensemble, formed in 2004, are known for their dynamic and polished performances - whether for the concert hall, in collaboration with composers or in workshops and coaching contexts.
As an International First Prize competition winner, London Myriad initially worked as a flexible ensemble encompassing wind and strings. Over ten years on, the ensemble has performed in the interim as a wind quintet and nowadays focuses on a core wind quartet formation with a return towards that earlier diversification from concert to concert.
The ensemble have performed at the Purcell Room and on BBC Radio 3 and London Myriad regularly coaches advanced wind ensembles at Benslow Music and across the country. In the past, the ensemble has benefitted from the support of Dartington International Summer School and the Musician's Benevolent Fund. Performing as guest quintet at various courses and summer schools over the years, and travelling as far afield as the Seychelles and twice to southern France, the ensemble has enjoyed a vared existence.
With a passion for furthering the repertoire for chamber ensemble, they have worked closely with a number of composers and also with Brighton New Music, giving a number of premiere performances over the years both at home and abroad.
