OLYMPIAN Concerto Debut @ Kennedy Center
Twenty-four years to the date that Oliverio's "Timpani Concerto No. 1" (The OLYMPIAN) was World Premiered by the Cleveland Orchestra, it received its Kennedy Center debut with soloist Jauvon Gilliam and the National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Thomas Wilkins. Gilliam studied with Paul Yancich, the Cleveland timpanist for whom the work was originally composed.

    "DYNASTY Double Timpani Concerto" World Premiere
    Composer James Oliverio autographing programs at the World Premiere of his "DYNASTY Double Timpani Concerto" featuring the Brothers Yancich as soloists with the Atlanta Symphony under the baton of Robert Spano. DYNASTY also received a premiere performance by the Cleveland Orchestra under the baton of Jahja Ling and is scheduled for additional American performances in the 2014-15 season.

      World Premiere of "SWING SYMPHONY" in Berlin
      James Oliverio, Wynton Marsalis and Sir Simon Rattle backstage after the World Premiere of Marsalis' "SWING SYMPHONY" with the Berlin Philharmonic.  Oliverio served as Orchestral Consultant to Mr. Marsalis on the project, which went on to receive additional performances with the commissioning consortium including the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra.
