Multi award-winner prof. Kosmas Lapatas STUDIED classical and modern Piano (Alexiou, Toufexis & Tryfonas), Harmony, Counterpoint & Fugue (Christofillos, Dellios, Ristas & Tatsis), Musicology (Anastasakis, Beris, Charalambopoulos, Ekonomides, Jones, Kara, Minakoulis, Molandonis, Papageorgiou, Tokatlian, Toufexis, Tsaldarakis & Ward), Music Technology, Music Production & Computer Composition (Cochrane, Dennis, Mellor, Miller, Owsinski, Shepherd & Whincop).

He has attended numerous MASTERCLASSES in Piano Literature, Technique, Technology, Performance & Pedagogy (S. Bernstein, Creviston, Fitch, Golandsky, Gyimesi, Hatzinikos, Hilton, Nosina, Shinn, Speidel, Tkach, Toufexis, Traganas, Trueman, Valois & Wells) as well as Orchestral and Choir Conducting ,(Hatzinikos Papadopoulos & Symeonidis).

He has taken COURSES in School Pedagogy (Brooks), Sonic Arts (Whittington), Early, Modern & Post-modern Music (Cuthbert, Kelly & Robison), Music Technology & Production (Harrald, Hochenbaum, LeBoeuf, Pender & Velichkovsky), Music Therapy, Healing & Wellness (McFerran, Lane & Philip), Philosophy & Aesthetics (Gikas), English/American Literature, Poetry & Drama (Psilopoulos).

He has RECORDED classical works by Albeniz, Albinoni, Bach, Barber, Bartok, Beethoven, Berio, Bernstein, Bizet, Busoni, Chopin, Gershwin, Ginastera, Grainger, Granados, Grieg, Griffes, Ligeti, Liszt, Medtner, Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, Satie, Scarlatti, Schoenberg, Scriabin, Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky.

He has also RECORDED & PROMOTED works by international contemporary classical, minimalist and film composers such as Barch, Batalha, Batsford, Bjork, Brown, Byers, Darling, Elfferich, Filus, Frahm, Gao, Gradanti, Hahl, Hansen, Ipsilanti, Isiklii, Jalbert, Karle, Kerwin, Krivtsov, Kuzmenko, Mallardi, Mansell, Martin, Menken, Morel, Mozetich, Naborshchikov, Nizamov, Orenburgsky, Orlando, Slonimsky, Snow, Solbas, Spanoudakis, Steppe, Stevens, Takemitsu, Theodossiou, Wilkins etc.

Last -but not least- he has recorded his own compositions, which range from minimal to electronic to the most dense contrapuntal avant-garde orchestral.

Prof. Lapatas has received AWARDS in Piano Performance, Music Composition, Music Education, Music Therapy and Ensemble Conducting. 

He has TAUGHT at prestigious public and private schools, colleges, conservatoires, orphanages and institutions for infants, children, adolescents and adults all over Athens. 

He has PERFORMED in all major Greek theaters, concert halls, cultural centers and international festivals.  

He is an avid PROMOTER of Early, Film & Minimalist Music and affiliated with AMS, EPTA, GSME, HeJMEC, IAC, ISPCI, ISPME, MPG, NAfME and NEMA.

He has been INTERVIEWED by Daily Post, Huffington Post, Pulse, Career, Kathimerini, Classical Buzz, Orange Twist etc.

Since 1995 he has devoted himself to TEACHING the piano to infants, children, adolescents and adults.
