About

Award-winning pianist Kosmas Lapatas at the age of 21 he was already among the youngest soloists of his generation, having graduated from the Institute of Piano Art with the highest distinction (Summa Cum Laude).

He studied Classical & Modern Piano, Piano Pedagogy, Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue, Musicology, Music Therapy, Music Technology, Music Production and Computer Composition. He has attended intensive master classes in Piano Performance & Pedagogy, Music Education, Music Technology, Chamber Music and Conducting.

He has received awards in Piano Performance, Composition, Music Education and Conducting.

He has performed at various concert halls, municipal theaters and with various orchestras and he has recorded classical piano masterpieces as well as his own compositions which range from minimal electronic to the most dense contrapuntal avant-garde orchestral. 

Since 1995 he is dedicated to teaching the piano to infants, children, adolescents and adults at home and in public and private schools, colleges, conservatoires and institutions. His students have been admitted to the Athens Conservatory, the Royal Academy and to various music schools, colleges and universities and have excelled in degrees, diplomas, competitions, auditions, festivals and Eurovision Junior among others.

His tutors were trained by iconic classical musicians such as Anda, Brailowsky, Curzon, Enescu, Hindemith, Horszowski, Hubert, Lhevinne, Marcus, Markevitch, Messiaen, Moravec, Musulin, Naumov, Neuhaus, Neumann, Ogdon, Orff, Sebok, Serkin, Skoda, Slenczynska, Svetlanova, Tocco, Vlassenko, etc.

He has collaborated with artists such as Addicted to Pain, Amberlin, Anoushka Scaillet, Brandi Carlile, Bruno Fergani, Camino Carrion, Chris Durbaan, Cypher, Demi, omoi, Elixir, Full Intention, Goo Goo Dools, Halifax, Isabel Guzman, Jay Lumen, Jhenne Aiko, Joni Fatora, Kerry Leva, Kill Miami, Kristy Lee Peters, Lea Lorean, Molly Berghout, Nils Frahm, Otep, Outlawz, Paskha, Ryanne van Dorst, Silence Industry, Solid, Spirit, Sussane Sandfor, Wreckage Machinery etc.
