Gabriela Montero


Gabriela Montero is a Venezuelan concert pianist, composer, improviser and human rights advocate. Recognized globally as a concert artisit in the core classical repertoire, Gabriela plays regularly with the world's leading orchestras and conductors. Gabriela's ability to spontaneously compose new works in front of an audience is also widely documented and celebrated. Her sustained use of "creative dissent" to protest human rights abuses in her native land led to her appointment in 2015 as the first Honorary Consul of Amnesty International. She has spoken twice at the World Economic Forum in Davos, and played at the first inauguration of US President Barack Obama.
