The West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) is Western Australia’s largest and busiest performing arts organisation.

With a world class reputation for excellence, engagement and innovation, WASO’s resident company of professional musicians plays a central role in creating a culturally vibrant Western Australia. Each year the Orchestra performs over 175 concerts with some of the world’s most talented conductors and soloists.

Current Opportunities


The Chief Executive Officer reports to the Chairman and Board of Directors of WASO and is responsible for the strategic, operational and commercial leadership of both WASO and WA Venues and Events (WAVE), which manages Western Australia’s Perth Concert Hall.

Whilst focused on further developing WASO’s artistic excellence and financial strength, this role will also be tasked with building and maintaining respected senior level relationships with WASO’s many key stakeholders and supporters in both the public and private sectors.

It is therefore suited to a proactive leader who has initiative, flexibility and the capacity to combine artistic excellence with a strong commercial aptitude. It is also envisaged that you will have outstanding networking skills, as well as previous exposure to working with a Board to develop and execute strategy across a dynamic arts related environment.
