Meet Brazilian Conductor Simone Menezes

It’s the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. That’s reason enough for us to celebrate Brazil on HELLO STAGE this week. As the largest classical music community with members from over 100 countries around the world we are happy to have also quite a fascinating group of Brazilian musicians on HELLO STAGE. We picked the young conductor Simone Menezes as Artist of the Week. Yes, she is one of the growing group of upcoming female conductors many of whom are on HELLO STAGE.
Simone Menezes recently move to Paris and we were happy to be the match makers between her and Eugénie Guibert of Sartory Artists who represent Simone now. Simone is the first conductor represented by the still young management Sartory Artists. She joins an eclectic roster including trombone player Fabrice Millischer, Sheng star Wu Wei. Pianists Shani Diluka, Florent Boffard, the Bizjak Piano Duo and the Trio Karenine.

Still in Brazil Simone founded the Camerata Latino Americana. This chamber orchestra is made up of fantastic soloists with a great interest in music from Brazil and Latin America. They have recently released a new recording. You find a trailer on their HELLO STAGE Page.

Simone is not a stranger to Paris. She graduated from the École de Musique de Paris with honors. She is assistant to Paavo Järvi, who supports so many HELLO STAGE members in their musical development. We are looking forward to seeing her conduct all over Europe!
