Meet Composer Eric Montalbetti

His music was hidden in his head and his papers for many years. Although he started composing at the age of 11 and studied with Pierre Boulez and Robert Piencilkowski his composing talents where unknown to many while he was Artistic Director of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. Meet composer Eric Montalbetti.
While working in artistic management Eric composed for himself. It was his way of keeping a personal diary. It must have been an exciting moment for him when his first orchestral piece “Vaste champ temporel à vivre joyeusement” was premiered in 2015 by the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire conducted by Pascal Rophé and later by the Tokyo Sinfonietta.

Eric was quickly commissioned to write more works for festivals and orchestras. David Grimal will perform Eric's Sonata for Solo Violin on August 3, 2016 at the Festival Le vent sur l'arbre in Millay, France. His music is published by Durand (Universal Music Publishing).
