#classicalbuzz HELLO STAGE Weekly Highlights April 4th

April starts with an exciting week for our Hello Stagers! Will you attending this year's IAMA conference? Don't miss Bettina on the 9th!

The Venezuelan pianist Alfredo Ovalles has an exciting week coming up - in Vienna this Thursday, 7th April he performs a solo recital at the Musikverein - Bach, Brahms, Bartók, Ravel and Bernstein await! This concert is highly recommended - Alfredo is an outstanding young pianist with a passion for contemporary music. Read and enjoy his Orange Twist interview!

If you haven't already seen them yet, tonight in Vienna our favorite funny duo and back with a new show, Igudesman & Joo play 'Play It Again' at the Vienna Konzerthaus tonight, before heading of to Basel, Switzerland on the 5th and Budapest on the 7th - we will also be covering their crowd-funding campaign coming up on May 1st supporting the production of their upcoming web-series, The Feast of Duos, with footage from last year's hilarious piano-violin duo competition in Sion, Switzerland - stay tuned! This wonderful project features many young and upcoming musicians!

The Arcis Saxophon Quartett are starring in in their own right at Stars von Morgen, ARTE Concert tomorrow, 5th April in Berlin - have you seen their brilliant chamber music interview series yet? Watch the first 4 episodes and learn about this exciting concept here: chamberTALK on the Hello Stage blog. If you are a budding composer you might still have time to take part in their Jingle Competition, open until April 30th!

It's our pleasure to announce Maestro Itzhak Perlman at the Barbican Centre in London this Tuesday, 5th April with pianist Rohan de Silva. They play Stravinsky's Suite Italienne for Violin and Piano Franck Sonata for Violin and Piano in A major Dvořák's Sonatina, Op.100 Film-music repertoire by John Williams before heading off to the Philharmonie Paris on the 7th with the same programe - best of luck!

We cannot praise promoter (and our beloved 10000th HelloStage'r ;) Piano4etoiles and their concert series enough - if you happen to be in Berlin this week go and enjoy the Brahms Cycle on the 6th!

Wonderful to see our founding member,- pianist Anika Vavic playing at the Alter Oper Frankfurt this week with the hr Sinfonie Orchester under Gustavo Gimeno - Anika plays a most bewitching Scriabin, so even more reason to go and enjoy his Concerto for Piano and Orchestra on the 7th and 8th April. Toi toi toi!

Many of you will happen to be at the IAMA conference, where you can go and see our very own Bettina Mehne at the IAMA Conference in Utrecht on the Sunday 9th April , as she talks about Shake It Off: Artist Management - don't miss it! Bettina's experience and expertise on the matter are a force to be reckoned with!
