An Opera Singer in Silicon Valley
Why does an Internet video provider launch a book? There is nothing like a free lunch so I went to the Gbox book launch today – Video Profits: How to Create Massive Profits and a New Stream of Income With Your Video Content.
Two things were notable. No, neither food nor booze…
First of all Gbox
is a great service for anyone owning video content. Gbox can provide a new income stream for classical musicians. No need to put your content on YouTube or other services where your viewers will see advertisements and then suggestions for other musicians. Gbox provides you a video hosting and streaming suitable to classical music. That is why we have integrated it on HELLO STAGE.
Secondly, I would like to mention the clever marketing. Start-ups do not have much money for marketing. We all hope that the word of mouth starts to become viral. Launching a book is just a clever idea. Suddenly you have significant more content to talk about, to write about, and to share. But you can also make it into the top lists of Amazon and address potential customers therefore in a different way.
Why a book on monetizing video content made it to #1 at Amazon in accounting will stay a mystery. I am also not sure if accountants necessarily have video content others would like to pay for. But the book made it also to #1 in online advertising on Amazon.
Congratulation to Gbox for a cool product and clever marketing. And yes, I do recommend to flick through the book and to get ideas on how you can make money from your videos. It is worth more than the US$ 2 it currently costs for the Kindle edition.
