Trio KlaVis are, in case you are wondering what the name stands for;
Sabina Hasanova ""Kla" – Klavier
Jenny Lippl “Vi” – Violine
Miha Ferk “S” – Saxophon
We all know HELLO STAGE’s favorite color! What’s yours?
It's different every day. Today, it's all shades of orange, as clearly seen on the photo.
I love all of the rich colours of sound.
Golden with a silver neck.
What was the best advice a teacher ever gave you?
Listen..,and hear (ironically, we were talking about life, not music!).
Never play drunk.
Don’t take yourself too seriously!
How has your practice changed with time?
During my practice,
I became much more demanding of my personality to be more open
and accessible than before, so that through the sound
I make, the connection could be found more easily,
whether it is with my own self or also with the audience.
It became more efficient.
I don’t push my practice above the limits too much
and generally, I use much more body and mind when I practice now as opposed when I was younger,
therefore the progress is healthier and faster.
What do you think is the most important trait of a successful artist in today’s modern world?
My observation shows me that it is
pretty much all about being social these days. Fortunately and unfortunately.
Just being successful or
also a great artist? To be successful nowadays,
artists need to be very smart, willing to promote themselves,
and it helps if they don’t get embarrassed too easily.
To be a great artist needs a lot more on top of it,
such as honesty, devotion and lots of hard work.
To follow his/her own heart
in spite of the cruel commercial business world out there.
In my opinion, that is the only way to stay pure in the soul
and therefore deliver good quality art to the audience.
How much time do you spend every day on Facebook, twitter, and which other ways do you use to promote yourself?
Other ways of promotion?
Sometimes, when all three of us walk down the street,
I shout out as loud as I can: "is that Trio KlaViS??",
and then when everyone looks, we walk like superstars!
Facebook daily and also use it for some promotion.
Other ways are email or good old printed flyers and, obviously, Hello Stage!
we are trying to meet as many new people as possible with
the similar interests as ours.
We are visiting different concerts, gatherings and we
chat about goals in life individually and as an ensemble.
Tell us more about your upcoming concert in the Wiener Musikverein!
We are premiering a brand new program, the "Geography of Sound"
in the Wiener Musikverein, after having had our premiere of our first program, “Take It To Eleven”
last year there as well. This new program is a musical journey around the world, inspired by us having many different cultural roots ourselves. You will also hear each of us playing a solo piece from our own homeland. Each single piece in this program is so unique yet special in it’s own way, and the mix turned out to be so colorful, that we were surprised by the diversity ourselves!
So what are your further plans for 2015 - did you make any musical resolutions :)?
We have many exciting new projects on the way! We are premiering two new programs this year: “Geography of Sound”
in March and “Musik als Geste des Geistes”
in autumn, whilst working on another one for next year, called “Chronology of Love”
, which will feature music from the Middle Ages till today on the subject of love. Miha is currently composing a trio for saxophone, violin and piano! We are starting to work on our first CD and we will have a tour through Austria in autumn. Follow our page on Hello Stage and you will get the latest news!
We just had to point out that this is our "most orange" picture yet: according to Trio KlaViS, the Orange Twist items include: a curtian, a yoga mat, a blanket case, a sweater, a pillow, a cardigan, a tie, a necklace, a hat, a scarf, a grapefruit, 2 plastic bags and a toothbrush - what can we say, HELLO STAGE likes ;)!
Follow and keep up with Trio KlaVis
