Stephen P Brown - Igniting Passion and Delivering Spectacular Performances

Stephen P Brown has shared his zeal for live music for over 30 years in concert halls, colleges, schools, community centers, nursing homes and churches on four continents, and in 2013 was ranked #2 in the Reverbnation USA Classical Music Charts. He is a deeply adventurous and creative impresario who founded the Medway Chamber Orchestra, numerous percussion ensembles, and the South East Symphony in the UK.  He is currently the Director of the Dunedin Concert Band, Richey Community Orchestra, and Sunfonia Chorale.

Stephen has served as artistic and musical director for the Jubilee Symphony Orchestra, Medway Chamber Orchestra, Kentish Players Theatre, Spotlites Theatre, the Blackheath Male Voice Choir, Ealing Choral Society Summer Programs, Cobham Church and the Jacksonville Chapel Concert Band, and also had the honor of pioneering Associate Student Conductor programs for the Hallé and BBC Philharmonic Orchestras.  

As a Composer he has embarked on a Quest to write 150 new pieces of music by his 50th birthday, and has conducted several premieres by Antonin Tucapsky, Martin Gaughan, and Australian Jonathan Edwards' Dawn Mantras as part of the UK's Millennium Festival. His major conducting engagements have included the Clearwater Chorus, the Griffin Orchestra of London and the Spotlites Theatre acclaimed production of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods

Stephen has also appeared on various major UK and US media networks including ABC, NBC and BBC TV & radio. Violinist Judy Kang, the only person to have worked with both Pierre Boulez and Lady Gaga, said of Stephen "He is very knowledgeable and very encouraging. He brings us the freedom to think on our own, to help us be spontaneous."
