My name is Michal Czerniawski and I am a countertenor based in Berlin.
I moved to Germany from UK relatively not long time ago.
I am very interested in meeting people on European music scene and creating new contacts as well as finding a representation.
Apart from concert work my last opera engagement was the role of Corindo in L'Orontea" by Pietro Antonio Cesti at Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alte Musik which I will sing at Wigmore Hall in London later this year. Recently I also sang Sosarme by Handel with Capella Cracoviensis which I will sing again in July.
I have worked extensively for William Christie (Jardin des Voix world tour), Masaaki Suzuki, Mark Padmore(St John, St Matthew Passions by J.S. Bach) and regulary perform both concerts (e.g.Handel's oratorios like "Messiah" and "Solomon", Pergolesi's "Salve Regina" at London Handel Festival, Scarlatti's "Il primo Omicidio" at Wratislavia Cantans) and operatic repertoire (e.g. "The Fairy Queen with Teatr Wielki w Poznaniu, "Acis&Galatea" and "L'opera seria" with New European Opera, "Euridice" with BYO, "Orlando Generoso" by Steffani at Barber Institute of Fine Arts in Birmingham). I also have theatrical experience ("The Duchess of Malfi" at Royal&Derngate in Northampton). I studied at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
I used to work for English Touring Opera in various productions. I have sung roles in "The Fairy Queen" by Purcell, Monteverdi's "Coronation of Poppea", "Jason" by Cavalli and Handel's "Agrippina".
