Mennan Bërveniku


Mennan Bërveniku was born in Pristina (Kosovo) in a family with rich musical traditions. At the age of 9 he began his piano lessons, later on to graduate from the High School of Music in Pristina in just 2 years with an extraordinary success. During his school years, he attended masterclasses in Sicily (Italy) with Oxana Yablonskaya (Russia/USA) and Michelle Rosetti (Italy), in Poreč (Croatia) and individual lessons in other cities with Marina Horak (Slovenia).

At the age of 13 he won the first prize two years in a row at the International Music Competition ARSKOSOVA in Pristina, where besides that, he became the winner of Mozart Prize and the Grand-Prix Scholarship for the best kosovan young musician. In 2008 he was awarded as the best young pianist of the year.

Mennan gave his first recital at the age of 15 with works of Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Ravel and Schubert in Pristina. After a successful performance, he got invitations to perform in several festivals in Kosovo and abroad (Albania, Austria, Italy, Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Turkey, etc).

Furthermore, he plays very often chamber music and is a very passionate accompanist. He also collaborates very often accompanying opera singers.

Since 2010 Mennan Bërveniku is studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna at the Piano Department under the tutelance of famous austrian pianist and conductor Stefan Vladar. Already in the first year he achieved to win the annual "Gonda-Weiner Prize" for the Best Young Pianist of the University and in 2012 he won the Prodigy Scholarship from Thyll-Dürr Foundation in Switzerland. In October 2012 he became the annual bursar of the Rotary Club Vienna.
