Melih Taşcı was born in Ankara in 1985. He completed his primary education in Ankara Private Alp College and Kalaba Primary School. He started to his musical education at the age of 9. He took his first private piano lessons from Azari piano virtuoso, Hacibaba Aliev, at the age of 14. After he had graduated from Gazi University in Ankara, department of labour economics; he was up for from Royal Conservatory of Brussels, composition department's Master's Degree. He has passed out the exams of Müjdat Gezen Art Center Conservatory's Music Department as a result of absolute degree in 2010. He studied with Fuat Güner, Fatih Erkoç, Hüsrev İsfendiyaroğlu, Leyla Ismailov, Vecihi Akın, Derya Kadayıfçı, Alper Yüce, Barış Özesener, Mert Türkmen, Yüksel Örses and Nihan Gezen. He graduated from M.G.A.C.C. with the top grade in 2013.
Melih Taşcı began to compose by his little piano concerto called "Rain Concerto" when he was 15 years old. In later years, he continued to his compositions and studies by himself. He also played his improvisations on piano at the every theatrical performances of "Nazım Hikmet with Drawings", which famous Turkish theatre artist and director Can Doğan have presented.
In the "Art Marathon" which was arranged against the abolishment of İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Theatres by the name of privization between 16th and 23rd June 2012; Melih Taşcı performed both the classical repertoire and his compositions and accompanied to the Turkish no mean artists such as Levent Üzümcü, Mehmet Ali Alabora, Metin Belgin, Hümay Güldağ, Cem Davran, Can Doğan, Orhan Aydın, Gülsen Tuncer, Melike Demirağ, Uğurtan Atakan and Engin Alkan with his improvisations on the piano solo. In the same program, on 19th June 2012, he attracted the attentions by his piano recital at 04.00 a.m.
Melih Taşcı gave his first official concert as a Pianist-Composer in 20th November 2013 in Adıyaman University Rectorate Concert Hall with both played some of his piano compositions and also accompanied to the Adıyaman Philharmonic Orchestra which Özgür Oğuz conducted. By this concert, Taşcı has officially assumed the "Concert Artist" title. Afterwards, in 20th April 2014, he gave his first piano recital at Cercle d'Orient, Istanbul.
The short film "Meryem" which Taşcı had composed and performed its soundtrack, was chosen as one of the best 10 short films through 200 films in the Bulgaria International Short Film Festival's Competition that was organized in Sofia.
As a 30 year-old-composer who has composed 36 works in symphonic, theatral and chamber music; Melih Taşcı has been also the young composer who has afillated with "Musical Work Owners' Society of Turkey" since 2008.
