Lara Kusztrich was born in Vienna, Austria in 1994. At the age of seven, she received her first violin lessons. From 2008 until March 2013 she studied with Professor Dora Schwarzberg at University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, and since March 2013 she has been studying there with Professor Lieke te Winkel.
In June 2011, she graduated from Musikgymnasium Vienna with destinction.
Lara was awarded first prizes at the Austrian competition "prima la musica" several times and at international competitions such as "Rovere d'Oro" in San Bartolomeo and "16th International Concorso per Giovani Musicisti in Citta di Barletta". Furthermore, Lara is laureate of the International Summer Academy in Salzburg in 2006. In 2009 she won a second prize at the international competition "Saulius Sondeckis" in Lithuania. She won the fourth prize at Stefanie Hohl Competition 2015 in Vienna and the ESTA special prize at the International Johannes Brahms Competition Pörtschach 2015.
Lara is one of the winners of "Musica Juventutis 2015/16".
She played as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine under Mykola Dyadura in Kiev, with the Slovak State Philharmonic, Košice under Jack Martin Händler in Košice, with the Orchestra of the „Musikfreunde Baden“ under Andjelko Igrec in Baden and the Vienna International Orchestra under Robert Lehrbaumer.
Further soloistic concerts have taken her to Konzerthaus Vienna, the MuTh Vienna, the Gasteig in Munich, to the Swiss festival "Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad 2012", the Great Hall of Mozarteum, the „Solitaire“ of New Mozarteum, to Venice, Budapest, Bratislava, i.a.
She took part in masterclasses held by Ivry Gitlis in Lugano, professors Eduard Schmieder and Lewis Kaplan (International Summer Academy Mozarteum Salzburg), Milan Šetena (International Music Forum Trenta 2014) and Serguei Azizian.
