Judita Škodová

Judita Škodová was born in 1991 in Prague. She has started to play the cello at the age of 6 in Music School of Capital City – Prague, then she continued her studies in the class of Mirko and Martin Škampa at Secondary School of Jan Neruda for musically gifted children, which she graduated in 2010. Currently she is a student of prof. Miroslav Petráš at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.

At the age of 13, Judita made her solo debut in Innenhof (Germany) at the International Festival of Young Musicians, where she played Bruch's Kol Nidrei with Prague Student Orchestra. With this orchestra she performed repeatedly afterwards, both as a member and a soloist.

In July 2006 she participated in International Chamber Music Masterclass in Farra d´Isonzo in Italy.

Judita performed Vivaldi s concerto for violin and cello in March 2007 in the most renowned Prague concert hall Rudolfinum with violinist Maestro Josef Suk and the Prague Chamber Philharmonic.

In February 2008 she guested at the International violin competition in Dubai (UAE) as a member of the school symphony orchestra and with the same group she played at the international festival of young orchestras „Eurochestries" in France in summer 2007 and 2008.

Repetitively she took part in representative concerts of the Jan Neruda's Secondary School in the Hall of Bohuslav Martinů in Lichtenstein Palace in Prague. She was the principal cellist of the school chamber orchestra Comenius, during her functioning a multiple winner of the international competition Concerto Bohemia.

In 2008 and 2009 she was a member of the student jury of the Jan Vychytil´s cello competition.

In 2009 and 2010 Judita was chosen to the Central European Initiation Youth Orchestra (CEIYO), as a principal cellist of this body she performed concerts on its tours in Italy and Romania.

In 2009 she made several solo performances of C. Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto a-minor, including a concert in the Dvořák's Hall in Rudolfinum and also a concert for the Czech ex-president Václav Havel.

In 2009 she obtained a „protective membership" of Fórum Mladých (Forum of the Youth).

During the school year 2011/2012 she was a student of Michaela Fukačová at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Odense, where she was studying thanks to the European exchange project – the Erasmus Programme. During her Danish studies she also performed as a member of Odense Symfoniorkester.

As a soloist, until now has she cooperated with conductors Marko Ivanović, Andrea Krausová, Tomáš Hanák and Petr Louženský.

So far, Judita has taken part masterclasses of Jiří Bárta, Michaela Fukačová, Jens Peter Maintz, László Fenyö, Jerome Pernoo, Alexander Ivashkin, Natalya Pavlutskaya, Wen-Sinn Yang, Miklos Perenyi, Csaba Onczay, Xenia Janković and Claudio Bohorquez.

In 2012, 2013 and 2014 she attended the International Summer Academy – Prague-Wien-Budapest, where in all years she won the Prize of Bohuslav Martinů and performed at the concert of the winners in Vienna.

Since 2003 she has been devoted also to chamber music, mostly she performs as a member of piano trios and string quartetts. Judita is a founding member of „Quasi Trio", which - founded in 2014 - is already a 2nd prize-winner of the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation Interpretation Competition, also obtaining a special prize for the interpretation of a piece by Martinů. In 2015 Quasi Trio participated in a masterclass in Grafenegg (Austria) held by the European Chamber Music Academy.

Two seasons in a row (2012/2013 and 2013/2014) Judita was chosen as a member of the Orchestral Academy of the PKF – Prague Philharmonia, in January 2014 she has become a regular member of the orchestra.
