John Lidfors


The American conductor John Lidfors is founder and artistic director of the Orchester Ventuno in Germany. An “exceptionally talented and capable musician” with a “formidable intellect”, he draws in audiences and musicians through a compelling podium presence and engaging concert experiences.

Equally at home in the orchestral and choral fields, he has performed with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Gstaad Festival Orchestra, the South Denmark Philharmonic, the Symphony Orchestra of the Rousse State Opera and top choirs such as the Berlin Radio Choir, the MDR Leipzig Radio Choir and the International Bach Academy Stuttgart.

John Lidfors received his training from the Aspen Conducting Academy, the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and from international masterclasses with Neeme Järvi and Jorma Panula. Since 2015 he is a member of the Conductors’ Forum of the German Music Council for choral conductors.
