Irene Gómez-Calado. Conductor


Spanish conductor Irene Gómez-Calado studied at the Sevilla Conservatory of Music in the class of Ricardo Rodríguez, afterwards with Marianne Guengard at the Conservatoire Boulogne-Billancourt in Paris, where later she studied her Master Degree at the Sorbonne University. She has benefitted from the advice of Enrique Mazzola and Paavo Järvi, and participated in Master Classes with Neeme Järvi, Leonid Grin and Arkady Leytush at the Pärnu Music Festival in Estonia and Jorma Panula at the Pazardjik Music Festival in Bulgaria. Irene Gómez-Calado has participated in conducting courses with Colin Metters and Gianluigi Gelmetti, and with the Atlantic Coast Orchestra and Berlin Sinfonietta.

In October 2016, Irene Gómez-Calado was finalist at the IV Orquesta de Córdoba competition in Spain. Irene was selected, by contest, assistant conductor in session 15/16 to the Orchestra des Grands Écoles de Paris. Also, she is benefiting of a scholarship of the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence.

Recent engagements include the 2016 Materadio Music Festival in Matera (Italy), where she conducted Nicola Campodrande's Audience and Orchestra Concert and an open's session concert with the Orchestra National d'Île-de-France.

Irene is guest conductor at the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese.
