Spanish conductor Irene Gomez-Calado is one of the more young and promising conductor of the moment. In the last year Irene was invited by the conductor Enrique Mazzola to work with the Orchestre National d'Ile de France in the world premiere of "Concerto for audience and orchestra" by the Italian composer Nicola Campogrande at the Philharmonie de Paris. Success has led her to be invited by the composer to work with the Orchestra La Verdi of Milan in February 2016. Enrique Mazzola said "Irene is a young conductor with an extraordinary musical intelligence and a full capacity understanding for music”.

Irene has performed in many different concerts throughout Latin America, Europe and Japan. Her wide experience allowed her to expand her knowledge into an impressive repertory. Irene has also had the opportunity to conduct the Atlantic Coast Orchestra in Portugal, the Brasov Symphonic Orchestra in Romania, the Sevilla Chamber Orchestra in Spain, the Orchestra des Grands Ècoles de Paris in France, the Philips Symfonie Orkest en Estonia, the Ensemble Erasme in Paris and the Pazardjik Symphony Orchestra in Bulgaria, among others.

Born in 1988 in a family of musicians in La Puebla del Río, Sevilla, Spain. Irene began her music education at the age of seven with the piano and transverse flute and she quickly highlighted her singing skills. From 2007 to 2012, Irene, integrated the Youth Choir of Andalusia where she was performing concerts from Andalusia to Morocco and she was assistant conductor.

She are graduated in Choir Conducting, with honors, from the Conservatory of Music "Manuel Castillo "in Seville. In september of 2011, Irene, moved to Paris. There she developed her knowledge in counterpoint, improvisation, organ, composition, analysis and conducting. In 2014 she completed his formal education with a Master Degree in conducting at the University of the Sorbonne in Paris.

In 2010 she founded the Seville Chamber Choir in Seville with whom she made a tour in Latin American during the summer of 2011. During this time she was also the Vice President of the Federation of Choirs of Seville and she worked as a choir conductor in the Barenboim-Said Foundation for three consecutive years from 2009 to 2011. Irene regularly is invited to conduct the choir Victoria Î'Ile de France, with whom she has had the opportunity to record two albums with music by French composer Martial Caillebotte. She also invited as a conductor teacher of the summer courses "Tamara Brooks" in Pontevedra.

Irene began her conducting career at age 18. She has got training in choral conducting with teachers Tamara Brooks, Julio Domínguez, Gary Graden, Johan Duijck, Ariel Alonso, Marianne Guengard and Celso Antunes, among others. And in orchestra conducting her teachers have included Gianluigi Gelmetti, Colin Metters, Aurèlien Azan Zielinski, Neeme Järvi, Paavo Järvi and Jorma Panula.

Her recent and upcoming engagements include conduct the Pazardjik Symphony Orchestra in Bulgaria, the Youth Orchestra of Balears Illes in Mallorca, Spain, the Orchestra Vigo 430 in Spain, the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie in Saarbrücken and  Istituzione Sinfonica Abruzzese in Italy.
