Hélène Le Corre

Hélène Le Corre began her musical and singing studies at the Maîtrise de Radio-France in Paris. She studied with Robert Dumé at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique (CNSM) in Paris, graduating with first prize. She also spent one year at the Vienna Musikhochschule as a student of Helena Lazarska.
Following her period of study in Vienna, Hélène Le Corre was engaged in 1996 as Pamina for the Mozart in Schönbrunn summer festival returning in 1997 for the same role. She also sang two productions for Wiener Kammeroper and made her début as Gretel in a new production of Hänsel und Gretel for the Landestheater Salzburg. 

In 1998 Hélène Le Corre joined the ensemble of Opéra National de Lyon where over the next four seasons she sang Pamina, Xenia in Boris Godunov, Sophie in Werther, Arbate in Mozart's Mitridate (recorded for DECCA), the title-role in Janacek's The Cunning Little Vixen, Miss Wordsworth in Britten's Albert Herring, The Princess in L'Enfant et les sortilèges, and Nannetta in two productions of Falstaff.

Hélène Le Corre has sung at the Théâtre de la Monnaie Brussels in Zemlinsky's Der Zwerg, at Opéra National du Rhin (Euridice in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice and Titania in Britten's Midsummer Night's Dream - production by Robert Carsen), at Opéra de Nancy (Silvia in Haydn's L'Isola Disabitata), at the Teatro Nacional Sao Carlos in Lisbon (Sophie in Graham Vick's production of Massenet's Werther), at Opéra de Bordeaux (Asteria in Handel's Tamerlano under Emmanuelle Haïm), at the Stadttheater Bern (Walter in Catalani's La Wally in a staging by Renata Scotto), Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro in Avignon, Toulon, Tours and Massy and Pamina for the Aix-en-Provence and Edinburgh Festivals, as well as in Lisbon, Toulon, Lausanne, Venise and Padua. For the Festival of La Chaise-Dieu she sang the part of Maddalena in a staged version of Antonio Caldara's oratorio Maddalena ai piedi di Cristo.

In concert she has sung the Berlioz Messe Solennelle with Fabio Luisi for the Berlioz Anniversary year in the Leipzig Gewandhaus, Mozart's Requiem with Emmanuel Krivine (Orchestre National de Lyon), Mozart's Mass in C minor at Opéra d'Avignon, Vol de Nuit by Dallapiccola with Marek Janowski (Orchestre Philarmonique de Radio France) and programmes of French and Italian baroque music with "Les Talens Lyriques" under the direction of Christophe Rousset. In recital she has given programmes of French song for the Festival "Autunno Musicale" in Como (Debussy, Fauré, Duparc) and for the Bibliothèque National de France in Paris. Her concert repertoire includes cantatas, masses and oratorios by Bach, Handel, Haydn and Mozart.

Recent engagements of Hélène Le Corre  included the role of Titania in Purcell's The Fairy Queen at the Landestheater Bregenz as well as Massenet's Cendrillon, Gilda (Rigoletto), the Second Violin in the contemporary opera Prova d'Orchestra (Battistelli) and Glauce in Cherubini's Medea in Bern, as well as Tytania in A Midsummer Night´s Dream at the Athens Festival with the Opéra de Lyon. Furthermore she sang Pamina Die Zauberflöte at the Opéra de Monte Carlo, and the roles of Antonia Les Contes d´Hoffmann, Sophie Der Rosenkavalier, Adina L´elisir d´amore and Tytania A Midsummer Night´s Dream in Bern; in concert, she could be heard in a programme of Bach-cantatas at the Wiener Konzerthaus under musical direction of Luca Pianca. Last season her performances in Bern included Gretel Hänsel und Gretel, Blanche and Soeur Constance Dialogues des Carmelites and Sandrina La finta giardiniera.

The last seasons she sang the roles of Gretel and Semele at the Stadttheater Bern and could be heard in further concerts of Bach cantatas at the Konzerthaus in Vienna, in the Messiah at the Megaron in Athens where she also sang and recorded the title role in Glucks Il Trionfo di Clelia.   

This season she returned to Opéra de Bordeaux as Soeur Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites, a role she also sang at the Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf. She will sing the role of Bellezza in Händels Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno at the Theater Bern. Future engagements include Ännchen in the french version of Der Freischütz and the title role in Semele, both at the Opéra de Nice, as well as concerts of Mozart´s Requiem with the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine.
