Gavriella Goldman


GAVRIELLA GOLDMAN began to learn the horn at the age of nine. She became a member of the Sydney Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and later she joined the celebrated SBS Radio and Television Youth Orchestra. Gavriella is the recipient of numerous awards. At the age of seventeen she was the inaugural winner and the only wind player to ever win the Nelly Apt Opera and Singers Trust Award in Australia, one of Australia's most prestigious prizes. The accolade was again hers the following year. She joined the Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and took part in a tour of Moscow under the baton of Valery Gergiev. Whilst still a student, Gavriella often played with horn sections of professional orchestras, including the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO), under the baton of Zubin Mehta. She has performed at some of the most prestigious venues both in the UK and abroad, at venues including the Sydney Opera House, the Targ Hall and Claremont Hall in Israel with members of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Sir Jack Lyons Hall in York and St Martin-in-the-Fields.  Gavriella studied at the Samuel Rubin Academy of Music, where she graduated with the highest results in the brass class and at the University of York where she was the recipient of the Sir Jack and Lady Lyons Millennium Scholarship. As well as her busy schedule as a performer Gavriella teaches at the family-run Renaissance Music School in Bedfordshire. Gavriella is a founding member of the Goldman Ensemble, a unique chamber music ensemble breathing new life into well loved works, engaging new audiences and experienced concert goers alike
