Erzsébet Seleljo

Erzsébet Seleljo studied saxophone with Kyle Horch at the Royal College of Music in London and with Lars Mlekusch at the Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität. Currently she is completing her doctoral studies at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. Erzsébet has won several national and foreign competitions, and recieved scholarships such as Liszt Academy Network and KLASSZ. During her studies she participated in masterclasses led by Claude Delangle, Arno Bornkamp, Nobuya Sugawa and many other world reknowned saxophonists. She also  took part in several educational workshops such as "In C" run by London Sinfonietta (for the reopening of the Royal Festival Hall), "Ocean World" organized by English Chamber Orchestra and RCM based Brentfield Project. She has also participated in contemporary projects, namely premiering Stephen Montague's Facing the Carnyx written for the 100th anniversary of the National Portrait Gallery and she has also partaken in a course led by Christian Kobi, named Performance, Improvisation with 20th century Techniques. In 2011 Erzsébet  was the first saxophonist to perform Glazuvov's Saxophone Concerto with the Liszt Chamber Orchestra, in 2012 she premiered András Gábor Virágh's Concerto with the Liszt Academy Symphony Orchestra and played Hidas' Sax Fantasy with Győr Symphonic Band later that year. She is often involved in contemporary projects, in 2013 she has worked with Slovakian Quasars Ensemble and in 2014 she played with UMZE, the Hungarian contemporary ensemble. She frequently plays with her pianist sister Irén - they performed at Liszt Academy's Solti Hall in october 2014 -, is a member of saxophone-harp duo called Duo ArsE and collaborates with other instrumentalists as well. Besides performing original repertoire, Erzsébet is commited to premiering new works and promoting Hungarian music. Erzsébet currently teaches saxophone at the Bartók Béla Secondary High School of Music
