biography
Born on October 20, 1979 in Voronezh, Russia, Ekaterina Gavrilova began taking violin lessons at the Secondary Special Music School at the Voronezh State Academy of Fine Arts. After finishing the school, she revealed a talent for singing and studied at the Rostropovich music college, from which she graduated with honors in 1999. She made her stage debut at the Voronezh State Philharmonic singing soprano in "Requiem" by Fauré, accompanied by the Voronezh State Academic Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Hugo Rener. In 1999, she entered the Voronezh Academy of Fine Arts in class of Professor K.V. Gornova. During the 3rd year at the Academy she was admitted to the opera company of the Voronezh State Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2004, she graduated from the Academy and became one of the leading soloists of the company, the Voronezh State Opera and Ballet Theatre remains her main stage.
Ekaterina Gavrilova performs the entire repertoire of the leading lyric coloratura soprano for Voronezh State Opera and Ballet Theatre. The press and critics unanimously praise her acting talent, vocal skills, stage presence and charisma, the essence of her success. Her performing skills are held in great esteem by conductors and stage directors she works with.

2003
Ekaterina took part in the Elena Obraztsova International Competition of Vocalists in Saint-Petersburg. In the same year she won the Special Prize V. Barsova Competition of Vocalists in Sochi. She made her debut as Arsena in the operetta "The Gypsy Baron" by Strauss, as Juliet in "The Count of Luxembourg" by Lehár in the Voronezh State Opera and Ballet Theatre, and as Polenka in "Kholopka" by Strelnikov, directed by I.A.Gulieva (Moscow Operetta State Theatre). Ekaterina sang soprano in the "Requiem" by Fauré with Voronezh State Academic Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ramon Torre Lledo.
2004
She debuted as Caroline in "Il matrimonio segreto" by Cimarosa, conducted by U. Anisichkin, on the stage of Voronezh State Opera and Ballet Theatre. This part won her "the Event of the season" prize for the Debut of the Season in competition held by the Russian Theatre Society. She participated in the Christmas Gala at the National Auditorium of Music in Madrid, conducted by Ramón Torre Lledo, and the Grand Christmas concert in support of victims of Beslan held in Palencia, Spain.
2005
She performed recital at the International Festival «Gala extraordinaria de Verano» (Palensia, Spain), conducted by Ramón Torre Lledo.Took active part in Master Classes with the dame Joan Sutherland, Renata Scotto, Ileana Kotrubas. She took part in the International Vocal Competition "Francisco Vinas".In the summer of 2005 she took part in the International Festival "Enclave de musica" in Barruello, Spain where she performed as Leila in "Les pecheurs de perles" by Bizet, and gave a recital, conducted by Ramón Torre Lledo.
2006
She debuted as Marola in "La tabernera del puerto" by Pablo Sorozabal, and Marguerite in «Las bribonas» by Rafael Calleja at the Voronezh State Academic Philharmonic Hall.
2007
ЕShe made her debut as Gilda in "Rigoletto" by Verdi, staged at the Voronezh State Opera and Ballet Theatre, directed by Olga Malikova (St. Petersburg), conducted by Fabio Mastrangelo (Italy) and as Rosina in "Il barbiere di Siviglia" by Rossini. In the same year she gave a recital entitled "Viva opera" accompanied by internationally acclaimed pianist Julia Lytkina on the stage of the Voronezh Philharmonic Hall
2009
Ekaterina Gavrilova appeared in a recital in Voronezh State Philharmonic Hall, conducted by Yuri Androsov. In 2009 she won the International Singing Competition "Musica Classica" in Moscow.
2010
She was engaged to perform as Fortuna in "Carmina Burana" by K. Orff, singing soprano. Directeb by D. Postoev, conducted by U. Anisichkin.
2011
Ekaterina Gavrilova sang the role of Pamina in the Voronezh Opera and Ballet Theatre’s new production of Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte" directed by A. Zikov, conducted by U. Anisichkin.
2013
She prepared a new concert program of French and German lieder together with internationally acclaimed pianist Julia Lytkina. A studio recording of the program was made at «JA JA Production». "Oh! Quand je dors…" was released through Centaur Records in April, 2015 and it is now available on CD in the USA, the EU, Canada, China, Taiwan and South Korea.

In April she took part in Sergey Leyferkus 70 Anniversary Gala Concert with Celso Albelo in Moscow International Performing Arts Center. Conductor Felix Corobov.
In November she was a Star guest of Gala concert at First National Opera Award ONEGIN in Aleksandrinsky Theater St.Petersburg

Ekaterina Gavrilova working with outstanding conductors: John Axelrod, Fabio Mastrangelo, Frederic Chaslin.
Her future engagements include Juliet in Gounod's "Romeo and Juliet," Adina - Donizetti's "L'elisir d'amore", Lucia in Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor" and Norina in Donizetti's "Don Pasquale".
