Deniz Gür

Deniz Gür was born in 1994 in New York and began her piano education at the age of 10 with Prof. Öznur Orbay at the prestigious Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory in Turkey, where she graduated from its high school section with high honours degree. After her graduation from ASC in 2012, she moved to Vienna to work with Prof. Roland Batik.

In 2012, she was awarded the "3rd prize" and the prize for "Best Turkish Piece Interpreter" at the Pera International Piano Competition. In 2013, she was again awarded the "3rd prize" at the 2nd International Ahmet Adnan Saygun Piano Competition.
At the 2nd National Piano Competition, organised by Ankara State Conservatory, she won the "2nd prize" and was also awarded the "Verda Erman Special Prize", which was named after the great Turkish pianist, who passed away in 2014.

She has participated in many masterclasses with great pianists and pedagogues throughout her music education.

In 2009 and 2010, she has worked with Jean-Bernard Pommier, Alexander Madzar, Gülsin Onay, Makoto Ueno, Valentin Surif, Peter Kosse, Giselle Brodsky, Mischa Dacic and Emre Elivar at the Gümüşlük International Music Festival. In 2011, she worked with Arnulf von Arnim at the Salzburg International Music Festival.

Ferhan Önder, Henri Sigfridsson, İnci Altınok-Haeusler are also among the names that she had the chance to work with.

She is currently working with Prof. Jan Jiracek von Arnim at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna (Universitat für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien).
