"...beauty, simplicity and radiance..." (pianist Delphine Bardin on the Darian Trio, December 2012)
The Darian Trio was formed in 2012 by three young musicians, united through a shared passion for and a desire to share the masterpieces of the string trio repertoire. Anais Tamisier (Violin, France), Kimi Makino (Viola, Japan) and Alison Frilingos (Cello, Australia) are based in Vienna, Austria and play in the Radio Symphonie Orchester Wien, the Wiener Kammerorchester, and as guest players in many other renowned ensembles such as Klangforum Wien and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. The Darian Trio were prizewinners at the international Pro Musicis Competition in Paris in 2012. After a successful audition in October 2013, the ensemble was granted entry to the prestigious European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA).
Darian is an ancient Persian name meaning "upholder of the good".
