Lilyan Kaiv (1974) graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music as a choir conductor in 1998, from 2002 she has graduated as master of music.
2005 graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music as conductor of symphony orchestra.
Since 2000 works Lilyan in Heino Eller Tartu Music College as conductor of symphony orchestra and choir, since 2008 also as a head of conducting department.
Lilyan works as artistic director and conductor of Estonian Music Teachers Symphony Orchestra since 2009.
Lilyan Kaiv has worked with many orchestras, among them Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, St. Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra, Liepaja Symphony Orchestra, Vaasa City Orchestra, Estonian National Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Latvian State Choir "Latvija".
Lilyan has participated masterclasses of Neeme Järvi, Paavo Järvi, Jorma Panula, Neil Thomson, Alexander Dimitrijev, Vladimir Ponkin.
She has also won a number of competitions of conductors, "Riga 97" and "Riga 2000", an international competition for young conductors in Tallinn 2002.
2003 won she second place from Jorma Panula Conductors Competition in Finland, Vasa.
Lilyan Kaiv is the finalist of the Blue Danube Opera Conducting Competition 2013 and 2015. She is also finalist of the Luigi Mancinelli Opera Conducting Competition 2014.
She has been music director and conductor of the performances "Murueide`s Daughter" by Miina Härma (2004, 2014), "Till Eulenspiegel" by Olav Ehala, "Marriage of Figaro" by W. A. Mozart, "Moon" by C. Orff, "Carmen" by G. Bizet.
