Anu Tali took up the position of Music Director of the Sarasota Orchestra in Florida in August 2013. Additionally, she continues in her role of Chief Conductor at the Nordic Symphony Orchestra, which Anu and sister Kadri Tali founded in 1997. Further highlights in 2013/14 include reinvitations at the Ruhrtriennale and Ensemble Modern.
Past seasons have included appearances with the Japan and Tokyo Philharmonic orchestras, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, Mozarteumorchester Salzburg at the Salzburger Festspiele, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, theDeutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks.
Equally active in opera, Anu Tali achieved a major success with a production of Carmen at Magdeburg State Opera, and was promptly invited to conduct Gluck's Telemaco at the Schwetzingen Festival and Theater Basel. Constantly searching for fresh musical ideas, Anu Tali also recently conducted acclaimed semi-staged performances of Goebbels' Songs of Wars I Have Seen with several ensembles including the London Sinfonietta at New York's Lincoln Center, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, in Seattle, Barcelona and London's Southbank Centre.
