Ángel Hernández-Lovera started his musical life playing the violin in the National Youth

Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela. His interest for composition began in his late teens,

when he started studying in the Latin-American Academy for Composition with

Professor Blas Atehortúa. Ángel has been involved in master classes with artists such

as Jorge Sánchez-Chiong, Eva Furrer, Rebecca Saunders, Marlos Nobre and Krzystof

Penderecki, among others.

Angel’s music has been performed on stages in Austria, Argentina, the USA, Russia,

and France, in festivals such as the EntreOboes Festival in Rosario, Argentina and the

Latin American Music Festival in Caracas. He has written works to be performed by

ensembles such as the Ensemble Intercontemporain and the Simón Bolívar Symphony

Orchestra, and soloists such as Yury Revich, Alfredo Ovalles, Patricia Kopatchinskaja

and Roland Schuller, among others.
